Personally that’s the only thing I hate about moving. The end result is however being somewhere new, and I know that’s something I love. You get to meet new people and you get a fresh start. Kind of like when you do a clean install of your computers Operating System. </p> <p>That’s how I feel now, I’m in the new house and I feel great. Most of my updates have been slow the past month because of this move. I am happy that I can now share this with people online. Today internet was turned on and I had a heck of time setting up wireless, but it all got done tonight. How else would I be typing this and posting here on tecnicle.com.</p> <p>With Wifi back my iPod is once again able to connect to a router and is ready to once again be my trusty assistant. I have applications that I really would like to share, but have not been able to because of the lack of Wifi. Not anymore so I will be doing some new videos in days to come. My website is still mike.tecnicle.com, and in videos in the past I’ve always ended with mike.tecnicle.com. However now I feel that is beginning to be a mouthful, so I’ve decided to start using tecnicle.com. It’s the same site and redirects you automatically to mike.tecnicle.com.</p> <p>So with all that said it’s great to be back, and in a new place. Many more posts to come in the next few weeks. Take care everyone and stay tuned for more.</p>]]></content></entry><entry><title>Days In Our Lives Getting Shorter</title><id>http://mike.tecnicle.com/blog/2010/3/8/days-in-our-lives-getting-shorter.html</id><link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://mike.tecnicle.com/blog/2010/3/8/days-in-our-lives-getting-shorter.html"/><author><name>Mike Copeland</name></author><published>2010-03-08T17:29:35Z</published><updated>2010-03-08T17:29:35Z</updated><content type="html" xml:lang="en-US"><![CDATA[<div style="padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: none; padding-top: 0px" id="scid:5737277B-5D6D-4f48-ABFC-DD9C333F4C5D:6605d878-1866-4c47-b18f-3f44ae500485" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent"><div id="03d622a0-793c-468a-bb4f-968d26743662" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; display: inline;"><div><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20DogpMdxr4" target="_new"><img src="http://mike.tecnicle.com/resource/WindowsLiveWriter-DaysInOurLivesGettingShorter_BD4-?fileId=6051403" style="border-style: none" galleryimg="no" onload="var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById('03d622a0-793c-468a-bb4f-968d26743662'); downlevelDiv.innerHTML = &quot;&lt;div&gt;&lt;object width=\&quot;287\&quot; height=\&quot;240\&quot;&gt;&lt;param name=\&quot;movie\&quot; value=\&quot;http://www.youtube.com/v/20DogpMdxr4&amp;hl=en\&quot;&gt;&lt;\/param&gt;&lt;embed src=\&quot;http://www.youtube.com/v/20DogpMdxr4&amp;hl=en\&quot; type=\&quot;application/x-shockwave-flash\&quot; width=\&quot;287\&quot; height=\&quot;240\&quot;&gt;&lt;\/embed&gt;&lt;\/object&gt;&lt;\/div&gt;&quot;;" alt=""></a></div></div></div> <p>&#160;</p> <p>There are moments when you feel that you just don’t have enough time in a day to do everything you have to do. Well if you’ve heard about the 8.8 Magnitude Earthquake in Chile then it looks like you will have even less time to do everything. Apparently the planet itself is off set on it’s axis, now I know what some people are thinking but no we’re not talking about the polar axis here. We’re talking about the earths figure axis, “What the heck is that?” well in a nutshell it’s the axis that the mass of the planet is balanced.</p> <p>According to NASA officials the figure axis is off set from the planets polar axis by 33 feet. To me that is amazing, now let me go on the record here saying that I am deeply saddened by the human loss from this quake. All I can say is that my prayers are with these people. I’ve spent most of my life learning about this planet, and so I get really excited when things like this happen (Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Volcanoes, etc.) though I do wish that people didn’t have to get hurt. However this is nature and some things just can’t be helped.</p> <p>It really makes you wonder though doesn’t it? Haiti was in January and Chile was in February. So will another big one strike this month?</p>]]></content></entry><entry><title>Why No Updates?</title><id>http://mike.tecnicle.com/blog/2010/2/9/why-no-updates.html</id><link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://mike.tecnicle.com/blog/2010/2/9/why-no-updates.html"/><author><name>Mike Copeland</name></author><published>2010-02-09T11:46:10Z</published><updated>2010-02-09T11:46:10Z</updated><content type="html" xml:lang="en-US"><![CDATA[<p>Pretty much at the moment everything is on hold because I’m in the process of moving. Anyways I bought as a Christmas present to myself. So now I can play some of my old Nintendo and Super Nintendo Games. Though I only have two SNES games left after I traded them in along with my Nintendo 64 at my old Pawn Shop a few years ago for a PlayStation 2.</p> <p>I love being able to play all the old games, and I seem to have become somewhat of a video game collector. Sort of a new hobby, my first video game console was the Atari 2600 in 1988. A year later I got the Nintendo Entertainment System for Christmas.</p> <p>The Retro Duo works like it should and I have enjoyed the games I own as well as a couple of new ones which I have purchased in the past couple of weeks. There are several systems like the Retro Duo; the FC Twin is one such system However since I don’t own one I can’t say much about it. </p> <p>If you have the Retro Duo or a system like it, how does it work? Are you happy with it or do you think it was a waste?</p>]]></content></entry><entry><title>MyLikes</title><category term="fun"/><category term="internet"/><category term="mylikes"/><category term="sharing"/><category term="social"/><id>http://mike.tecnicle.com/blog/2010/1/17/mylikes.html</id><link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://mike.tecnicle.com/blog/2010/1/17/mylikes.html"/><author><name>Mike Copeland</name></author><published>2010-01-17T14:03:28Z</published><updated>2010-01-17T14:03:28Z</updated><content type="html" xml:lang="en-US"><![CDATA[<div xmlns='http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml'><div><a style='text-decoration: none; font-size:medium' href='http://lx.im/4vG3?v=7ZNtJ5VVqm_bx9R_I71jrmg7RCb97D-IvpSqFQ-PhZo' rel='nofollow'>MyLikes</a> - <span style='color: #006600'>www.mylikes.com</span></div><div>If you really like something wouldn't you like to share it with people? A very different game than it’s PC/Mac counterpart, The Sims 3 app is ok in my taste. I preferably like to play the game on my PC, but it is nice to have a playable version on my iPod Touch. </p> <p>The game is more than likely similar to the ones played on the DSi, and PSP. Loading isn’t bad, and the game itself plays pretty good. This is hard for me to actually explain, you would have to play for yourself to understand. One thing is the odd jobs you have to do, some of which make no sense to me. The amount of money you make is not really helpful in the beginning, but in reality sometimes you have to struggle a little to succeed.</p> <p>I’ve played for a couple of months now, off and on that is. Lately I’ve just kept it on my iPod Touch and haven’t really played it. </p> <p>The Sims 3 goes for $6.99 in the iTunes App Store. It’s hard for me to recommend this game, but if you’re a hardcore fan of the Sims series go for it.</p> <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=317904170&amp;mt=8&amp;uo=6"><img alt="The Sims 3" src="http://ax.itunes.apple.com/images/badgeitunes61x15dark.gif" width="61" height="15" /></a>]]></content></entry><entry><title>Happy New Year 2010!</title><id>http://mike.tecnicle.com/blog/2010/1/1/happy-new-year-2010.html</id><link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://mike.tecnicle.com/blog/2010/1/1/happy-new-year-2010.html"/><author><name>Mike Copeland</name></author><published>2010-01-01T06:28:56Z</published><updated>2010-01-01T06:28:56Z</updated><content type="html" xml:lang="en-US"><![CDATA[<div style="padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: none; padding-top: 0px" id="scid:5737277B-5D6D-4f48-ABFC-DD9C333F4C5D:5628e11b-9ee7-43c5-b23c-abaa7174a3e2" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent"><div id="0e329c47-e85b-4cc7-b84a-88f4f18cf323" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; display: inline;"><div><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ambM-2p1LWA" target="_new"><img src="http://mike.tecnicle.com/resource/WindowsLiveWriter-HappyNewYear2010_10E98-?fileId=5213516" style="border-style: none" galleryimg="no" onload="var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById('0e329c47-e85b-4cc7-b84a-88f4f18cf323'); downlevelDiv.innerHTML = &quot;&lt;div&gt;&lt;object width=\&quot;290\&quot; height=\&quot;243\&quot;&gt;&lt;param name=\&quot;movie\&quot; value=\&quot;http://www.youtube.com/v/ambM-2p1LWA&amp;hl=en\&quot;&gt;&lt;\/param&gt;&lt;embed src=\&quot;http://www.youtube.com/v/ambM-2p1LWA&amp;hl=en\&quot; type=\&quot;application/x-shockwave-flash\&quot; width=\&quot;290\&quot; height=\&quot;243\&quot;&gt;&lt;\/embed&gt;&lt;\/object&gt;&lt;\/div&gt;&quot;;" alt=""></a></div></div></div> <p>&#160;</p> <p>The count down is over 2010 is now upon us, and I want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year. I love technology, and everything about technology. There is so much that can be accomplished with software, and hardware, but there is also so much to be done with social media. Mainstream social media sites like Myspace and Facebook have dominated the general public. As for Geek sites there is only one that I know of and it is located at geeks.pirillo.com, but I feel having only one geek location is unfair to the geek masses.</p> <p>My own company which is still in infancy and consist of myself alone is working on a new Geek social site. This will give many geeks the choice between choosing Geeks and a different geek site. Now a geek is anyone who is passionate about stuff. For example if you are passionate about books then you’re a book geek, maybe you know a lot about movies, then you’re a movie geek.</p> <p>Currently the domain that I want is taken so I will be doing my best to obtain it since it’s not in use and is only a parked domain. Of course I am open to hearing ideas for a name if you’re willing to help out. The site itself is in beta, but I haven’t had time to work on it lately, I do need people who are willing to join, and want to join and help build an alternative community to Geeks.</p> <p>I would like to express that I am in no way against Chris Pirillo and his community. That community is very helpful, and a lot of the people are very friendly. However there are some that strike me as possessive, and tyrannical. Instead of whine about it as some have I’ve decided to make this change myself. I am a fan of Chris, but I am not a fanatic, much like I am a Christian but not religious, or fanatical.</p>]]></content></entry><entry><title>What does the Future Hold?</title><id>http://mike.tecnicle.com/blog/2010/1/1/what-does-the-future-hold.html</id><link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://mike.tecnicle.com/blog/2010/1/1/what-does-the-future-hold.html"/><author><name>Mike Copeland</name></author><published>2010-01-01T03:10:33Z</published><updated>2010-01-01T03:10:33Z</updated><content type="html" xml:lang="en-US"><![CDATA[<div style="padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: none; padding-top: 0px" id="scid:5737277B-5D6D-4f48-ABFC-DD9C333F4C5D:66b11eeb-688e-4435-9b6f-9fd7bc89ff78" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent"><div id="240c72f6-f8ec-47ce-870c-c723d2b8ecd8" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; display: inline;"><div><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ND7LM1EunzQ" target="_new"><img src="http://mike.tecnicle.com/resource/WindowsLiveWriter-WhatdoestheFutureHold_924F-?fileId=5212758" style="border-style: none" galleryimg="no" onload="var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById('240c72f6-f8ec-47ce-870c-c723d2b8ecd8'); downlevelDiv.innerHTML = &quot;&lt;div&gt;&lt;object width=\&quot;283\&quot; height=\&quot;237\&quot;&gt;&lt;param name=\&quot;movie\&quot; value=\&quot;http://www.youtube.com/v/ND7LM1EunzQ&amp;hl=en\&quot;&gt;&lt;\/param&gt;&lt;embed src=\&quot;http://www.youtube.com/v/ND7LM1EunzQ&amp;hl=en\&quot; type=\&quot;application/x-shockwave-flash\&quot; width=\&quot;283\&quot; height=\&quot;237\&quot;&gt;&lt;\/embed&gt;&lt;\/object&gt;&lt;\/div&gt;&quot;;" alt=""></a></div></div></div> <p>&#160;</p> <p>The future is far off, but it so nice to think a dream of what that future would be like. Is it possible that everything will go open source, maybe. I can see how this would be a possibility, however I wouldn’t put my money on it. A few years ago I was watching a special they had on the the discovery channel called 2057 and I was thinking wow this is amazing stuff. They divided it over 3 episodes, one was Medical, another was The City, and the last one was Energy. </p> <p>In 2057 I will be 72 years old, so that is really amazing to think about. One of the other things is, what could be in the next 50 years. Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, Apple, and many others will they still be here? Or will they be gone, merged, or weakening. It’s really hard to say, but it’s such a way to think. </p> <p>Windows 7 in my opinion was a success, and I am looking forward to Windows 8 in 2012, if it meets it’s deadline. With Windows 7 Microsoft has taken a step into the future, but the software giant has a long ways to go if it want to survive this new decade. </p> <p>Apple also has work to do with OS X, but I will say this OS X Snow Leopard is no step forward, it’s only version 10.6. I am interested in seeing how Apple will make the leap from OS X to OS 11. They will really have to work hard, and I can’t wait to see what Apple pulls out of the bag. Both Apple and Microsoft have their work cut out for them against Google. You might say that Google doesn’t have any ground. Well neither did Microsoft when it first arrived.</p> <p>What do you think of the future? What kind of world do you think we’ll live in in 50 years?</p>]]></content></entry></feed>
